Unity- One Spirit, One Purpose

This powerful message calls the church to embrace true biblical unity — not just in agreement, but in heart, spirit, and mission. Drawing from Philippians 2:1-8, we are reminded that unity flows from humility, as Christ Himself laid aside pride and took on the form of a servant for the sake of others. When we follow His example, we discover the strength that comes from selflessness and shared purpose.

Psalms 133:1-3 declares, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Unity invites the blessing and anointing of God, just as seen in Acts 2, where believers gathered in one accord and the Spirit moved mightily, bringing repentance and salvation to many.

This sermon also exposes the dangers that threaten unity. Proverbs 16:18 warns that pride leads to destruction, while James 4:6 reminds us that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Through 1 Peter 3:7, we see the importance of honoring one another so that nothing hinders our prayers or fellowship.

Unity – One Spirit, One Purpose challenges every believer to lay aside division, walk in humility, and pursue the kind of unity that reflects the heart of Christ — a unity that empowers the church to move forward together in the power of the Holy Spirit.
