There is power in prayer

Aug 31, 2025    Michael Brown

Prayer is not just a religious duty—it is the lifeline that connects us directly to the power of God. From Elijah calling down fire from heaven on Mount Carmel (1 Kings 18:21-35) to the promise that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16), Scripture reminds us that prayer changes circumstances, strengthens faith, and brings us into alignment with God’s will.

Jesus Himself taught the importance of secret prayer in Matthew 6:6, demonstrated the discipline of rising early to pray (Mark 1:35), and assured us that even faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). The apostle John assures us that when we pray according to God’s will, He hears us (1 John 5:14). Paul encourages us to bring every request before God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), and Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that prayer begins with faith that God is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

In this message, we will discover how prayer is not only communication with God—it is the channel through which His power is released in our lives. Prayer builds faith, breaks strongholds, brings peace, and releases God’s supernatural power into impossible situations.

Come ready to be reminded that when God’s people pray, mountains move, lives are changed, and His glory is revealed.
